We are a travel agency with professional tourist guides specialized on nature tourism. We have been on business for over 32 years working throughout the whole Colombian territory, which has always been our main goal since 1993.

To live responsibly in a nature environment, even if it’s for a little while, means compromise. You must breathe its silence and feel its spirit, and that gives you the opportunity to feel life differently. We believe it’s not enough to walk through a path, but we must do whatever it is necessary to make you discover the real landscape, the sublime emotion of its immensity and its modesty. Perhaps, that is the way to find your own richness, your relationship with your environment. Sinking in nature is finding yourself, so you must leave behind what’s usual for you, all of the privileges that lead you to indolence.

Our biggest commitment is with COLOMBIA. We want to show you its beauty and we are not abandoning it in indifference. We love our country, that is why we protect it by traveling through it, and teaching natives and foreigners how to do it. Maybe, one day, this will become a new culture, THE CULTURE OF LIFE, which worships EARTH, as the essential mother to whom we owe respect and our own existence.  Caminantes del Retorno was founded in 1993 by graduates of Champagnat School, inspired by Andrés Hurtado García and his teaching vocation.  He started working as our teacher in 1977 and we became his biggest followers. Nature call has been with us as a particular and indelible print.  A long path of three decades have led us to loving Colombia by walking its territory, looking for unexplored landscapes, and marvelous corners.

A TRAVELED ROAD

We are a group of professional guides, specialized on nature tourism, inscribed in the National Tourism Registry. We also operate as a travel agency in alliance with foreign agencies. We provide personalized services working around our customers interests.

We have created and developed different ways to show our country, emphasizing in conservation, respect for the environment, and contemplation. “Retorno” Magazine and “The Mountain week” were born from this vocation as “Caminantes del Retorno”. From this perspective, we deliver environmental education programs, hikes, excursions, expeditions, conferences, photographic exhibitions, magazines, and audiovisual projects.

Our major strengths are our experience and knowledge of the most beautiful places in Colombia. We work with local communities and we get to really know each one of the destinations we promote.

Back in the 80’s we opened our horizons throughout the whole national geography, and in the 90’s we created a group that grew under the objectives of divulgation of our landscapes, promotion of our national identity, and the silent contemplation and respect of nature.

We believe that walking achieves the reunion between nature and national identity. A walk through nature gets you closer to real sensations. Walking makes it possible to discover new life forms, people’s warmth, geological formations, and the magnificent strength of wind. We use the beat of silence for an experience that changes and transforms the relationship we have with life.
